Guests at Grand Army Plaza, Fifth Avenue

Grand Army Plaza is the small square at the south-east corner of Central Park, with the Pulitzer Fountain on one side and the gilded equestrian statue of General Sherman on the other. The Plaza Hotel faces it directly across Fifth Avenue.

The square appears constantly in Gossip Girl as the link between the Upper East Side and Midtown — characters cross it on the way to the Plaza, to Bergdorf Goodman one block south, or into the park. The horse carriages that queue along the kerb are in many of those shots.

It is a public square, free and open at all hours, and it is where our pedicab route enters Central Park.
