Guests on the Met Steps, Fifth Avenue

The steps in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are the most recognisable Gossip Girl location in New York City. In the series the girls sit near the top, on the left-hand side as you face the building, with the museum banners behind them — which is why almost everyone who comes on our tour wants their own photo here.

The steps are public and free to sit on; you only pay if you go inside the museum. They are busiest around midday, so the calmest photos are usually in the morning. The Met is on Fifth Avenue between 80th and 84th Street, directly across from Central Park.
